Policy Review and Development
University leaders, faculty and staff can receive support from the Office of Institutional Success and Decision Support for the following policy-related activities.
- Research on policies and best practices at peer and benchmark institutions
- Support on the development of new policies including obtaining the appropriate approvals from the University’s shared governance bodies
- Guidance on the revision of University policies
Current University Policies
The Policy Navigator: Handbook of Operating Procedures (HOP) contains the official policies and procedures at UT Dallas. This resource is managed by OISDS Web Applications & Technology team.
Resources for Policy Development and Revisions
The Senior Director for Policy and Process Improvement can provide guidance on the development of new policies or proposed revisions to existing policies. All policy actions must receive approval of the Handbook of Operating Procedures Committee as outlined in UTDPP1056 – HOP Amendment Approval Process. In addition, policy actions must have a plan for obtaining advisory input from faculty, staff, and student governance bodies that may be affected by changes in HOP policies and procedures.
The Policy Submission Form must be completed for proposed policy actions and the draft policy should follow the HOP Policy Template.
