The Lunar Log - Charting the Path Ahead
Supporting Enrollment
Welcome to our May Issue of The Lunar Log – a blog dedicated to keeping you updated on the CRM implementation at UT Dallas, also known as Project Europa! At UT Dallas, student enrollment and success are at the heart of everything we do—it fuels our mission, drives institutional growth, and empowers us to reach new heights of academic excellence. As we continue to transform the student experience, our new CRM—Salesforce Education Cloud—will play a critical role in supporting that enrollment journey. By connecting recruiting, admissions, and student success through one integrated system, we are removing barriers and finding new ways to be strategic in our support of positive student outcomes. The CRM offers a unified platform that allows us to proactively engage with students, streamline processes, and ensure every prospective and current student receives the attention and support they need to thrive.
Empowering Students with Intuitive Tools
Today’s students expect technology that works with them, not against them. They deserve tools that are intuitive, modern, and built with their needs in mind. Our CRM transformation is focused on delivering just that—a seamless and personalized experience from the moment a student expresses interest in UT Dallas through to graduation. With Education Cloud, students will be able to access a simplified and user-friendly portal that helps guide them through each step of their academic journey, from applying and submitting documents to scheduling advising sessions and receiving important alerts. Students will have the ability to communicate with faculty and staff who are focused on their success and will receive strategic reminders of important milestones on their journey to graduation.
A Vital Initiative for UT Dallas’s Future
Project Europa is more than a technology upgrade—it’s a university-wide transformation. The successful implementation of our CRM is essential to achieving our enrollment goals, strengthening student support, and ensuring the continued advancement of UT Dallas as a leading research university. The CRM has also facilitated positive conversations about new ways to do our work while better leveraging our campus resources. Every improvement we make today lays the groundwork for a more efficient, responsive, and student-centered university. This is a critical investment in our people, processes, and long-term success.
Recruitment and Admissions: Laying a New Foundation
Tremendous progress has already been made in the areas of Recruitment and Admissions. Our teams have aligned ApplyTexas and Common App application data to feed into Education Cloud, uniting all undergraduate students in our new Applicant Portal. We are grateful to the many faculty and staff that additionally contributed to a new simplified graduate admissions application within the Applicant Portal—making it easier than ever for prospective graduate students to apply and submit the documents needed for admissions. This portal allows all applicants to see exactly what’s required to complete their application, upload necessary documents, and even reach out to recommenders—all within the same interface. Schools across campus collaborated to unify application requirements, reducing confusion and minimizing back-and-forth emails through automated updates. Within Education Cloud, application processors and admissions review committees can now view complete application records and all submitted documents from the moment an applicant starts their application. This transparency supports faster, more accurate decision-making and a dramatically improved experience for students, faculty and staff. Students applying for admissions for summer and fall 2026 will be the first applications completely processed in Education Cloud and these students will be the first to experience the new applicant portal.
